With almost no fanfare, the Ashmont Station busway opened on Saturday. Today, I got a chance to see it for myself. This is a busway after all so it is hard to drum up too much enthusiasm, but since it is finally finished it is worth noting that pedestrians can now walk along the edge of the station and board a bus the way that the neighborhood had first intended back in 2001. Congratulations to the MBTA and Barletta on meeting their deadline.
